CP-P2 Paragliding course

In P1 you learn the basics, enough to get you flying under supervision.

In P2 you learn all the skills necessary to fly without supervision and earn your Novice level certification. This is a comprehensive course designed to make you a safe and competent pilot with good judgment. You also learn to reason out and understand when not to fly. If you have to take paragliding as a regular sport you need to develop your practical and the theoretical skill level. This course will be divided in two sessions: ground handling and advance takeoff techniques.

Ground Handling
The key to become a good paragliding pilot is to develop your ground handling or kiting skills. This is a never ending process but in this course we will put you on the right track for developing these skills. These skills will help you launching the glider using the most effective techniques, learn to control your glider smoothly without oscillation and spot landing your glider in a predetermined place.

Ground handling will be a four day course between 3 to 6pm and would cost you Rs.17,500/-.
Group Size: max. 3 students
Duration: 4 days
Flying gear: all flying equipment (glider, harness, helmet, reserve, radio) is included
Transport to flying sites: from Space Apple Base Camp included
Accomomodation: Extra @ 450Rs/night

Advance takeoff techniques
You’ll fly in varying conditions so that you’ll be familiar with the changing weather and be able to recognize appropriate and inappropriate conditions for flying. We not only cover entire list of tasks required by the United States Hang Gliding Association to become a novice rated pilot but also go beyond the minimums to include additional flying skills and theoretical information.
In the theory classes we will cover: aerodynamics, glider control, weather, rules and regulations, critical situations and simulated reserve deployments. We will provide educational videos and share our resources to make your theory lesson more tangible.
We believe that only the most knowledgeable students can become the best and the safest pilots.

Advance takeoff techniques are taught at takeoff sites followed by soaring flights.
Every flight you will be learning new things. The cost is more affordable and staggered at this stage.
Group Size: max. 2 students = more air time
Duration: 4-8 sessions
Flying gear: all flying equipment (glider, harness, helmet, reserve, radio) is included
Transport to flying sites: from Space Apple Base Camp included
Accomomodation: Extra @ 450Rs/night

Basic EP-P1 Paragliding course

This course is for those who have done some homework and decided to learn the sport.

The Basic course is the first step towards making your dream of flying come true. It is a great feeling to be up in the air, enjoy the freedom experienced by the birds and get a sense of achievement. We follow a training syllabus.
Here's how the course works
:

Ground School
You will start with the ground school. We allot you your individual flying kit for training. There will be short brief on the theory of flying. We will explain why things fly and how the glider is designed. This way you will know not only what to do but how it works and why. You'll get a set of notes specifically written for this course that will help you review what you learn on the field.

Ground Handling
Ground handling is where you run with the glider on flat ground. You do this so that you can practice: inflating the glider, running with it, staying centered, making turns and slowing down. In short, practicing, all the basic elements of a flight before you even leave the ground. Becoming proficient in these fundamentals is the most important part of this course. When you find that you can consistently inflate the glider, run with it, steer smoothly and slow the glider down, you'll be ready for your next level of getting lifted off your feet.

Flying
Confident is how you want to feel while leaving the ground and that’s where the instructor plays an important role. You'll be glad that you came to Space Apple for training as we do not train big groups but give individual training. You are trained to takeoff independently without assistance. You will begin with short hops from small heights and then graduate to proper solo hill flight. You'll have flight plan for each flight so you'll know what to do and your instructor will guide you on the radio as you fly. Depending on the weather conditions and the hill we use, your initial flights will be of two to five minutes duration. You'll get a number of flights to practice launching, steering, landing and just enjoying the sheer pleasure of being airborne!

Regulations & Licensing in India

Paragliding, Hang gliding and Paramotoring are not regulated by DGCA or Aero Club of India, so no license is required to fly anywhere in India. However all pilots are expected to maintain a logbook to show their experience level. In absence of national policies, many states in India have come up with safety guidelines to reduce risk factors and control accidents.
